I walked out this morning and was struck cold by this image. We were gone all weekend and I guess this little squirrel got stuck in the birdfeeder. I had noticed him eating out of it all week. He would hang on the branch, open the lid and eat hanging down. I guess the food got so low he was really reaching and must have dropped in. Ugh. He must have been so scared....trying frantically to get out. Just hurts my heart...poor little fellow. I wish I had been around to help him out.

I am going to wrap him in a blanket and bury him now.
