well hi there. i'm still under the gun on too much work. that's all i've done this week and will do this weekend and probably next. one day this will end. soon. or i jump.
for stuff going on: the Texas Norba National is happening this weekend outside of San Antonio. I had planned to go out this morning and watch the short track part of it. I wanted to cheer my friends on as they painfully race around and around and around....and gather some inspiration from it all. i missed last year's in Waco - it was the first Texas national race. so, it's kinda cool to have all the big names come down here to race the trails. Here's how the marathon and time trial went down yesterday.
Hopefully the rain will hold off for them. It rains every weekend now and there's a 100% percent chance. This rain and cold pattern is killing alot of us die hard Texans. I can't get used to the misery. I'm always amazed that folks can ride year round in all those northern states. i'm a warm weenie. i might need to move to Costa Rica.
Tonite down the street from us, there's some sort of thing at this little record store called sound on sound. RAMBO: radical anarchist mosh bike overthrow from PHILLY! i think that is reason enough to be there.
right next door to this record shop is our very own anarchist book store, MonkeyWrench. well they used to advertise as that - maybe they've toned down the anarchist part. but very cool.
in this same area, we have Forbidden Fruit, Ararat Restaurant serving Kurdish, Persian, Armenian, Arabic & Turkish food (veggie and non), a shoe shop, a funky vintage furniture/clothing store Room Service, a music shop, another vintage clothing store and i think a pizza shop. This area rocks. and it's a 5min bike ride away.
enjoy your day out there. soon, i'll be writing about the new bike coming to my door from milwaukee. payment for my work on king of jester. hint: the orange one, singlespeed urban destroyer. good times.
