THE TIME HAS CHANGED
all hail the daylight! i'm so excited. this is cause for celebration. there was a discussion somewhere about this very issue - and what's the point anymore. and someone posted: u must hate children. it's for the children u know. well to that i say: in this modern age, we do have flashlights. duh. so we will be out riding later tonite. will check out Sin City. we rode to east side pedal pushers, Lee Gresham's one man bike shop on saturday. very nice place - it's a hole in the wall on east 6th street and total charm. his other shop was burned down and just opened this one and is hoping his landlord is not thinking of renovating the space and upping the rent. we hope so too. he specializes in repair and reconditioning of older bikes, fixing up the outcasts. visit him at 1100 East 6th. new bike news: while greg continues to look for a old frame and old parts to build up a ss or fixie, i am now psyched about a Xtracycle in our near future. possible carless for sure? we only have one very old car now, a KIA sportage, and it serves us well when we need it. but it sits quite often. with a xtracycle it would sit even more. i could put a longloader on it and carry my kayak to town lake too. nice. on the st. patrick's day alleycat, i rode with a xtracycle, as he rode up walls and took curbs like no big whoop. i'm gonna look into it. also one more thing on that note: there is a Rack and Ride Transit Challenge happening May 1 to Aug. 31. combine your biking with your local transit system buses. i wonder if you can bring a kayak on a bus? blow up your car. ride a bike.
