so it's BIKE MONTH here in Austin. there's some fun stuff going down this weekend. hope to see some folks out and about. i look forward to the hummer pinata.
FRIDAY 5/13 - Night light bicycle cruise and pageant (funky bikes oh yes) to promote cars seeing bikes on the road and bikes knowing their rights and being safe. Bike lights and blinkies will be distributed for a donation to benefit the BIKER DOWN Fund, a fund which helps uninsured individuals who've been hit and/or hurt while riding their bicycle. Post ride party at The Daily Juice.
Location: Austin Zilker Park. Meet at the parking lot above the canoe rental (adjacent to Barton Springs).
Time: 6:30pm.
SATURDAY 5/14 - Ride Like A Girl Mountain Bike Ride
For the ladies, women and girls only. The smelly guys should stay away.
Location: Austin Walnut Creek Park
Time: 10:00am
yellow bike 8 year anniversary w/ bands, 'hummer' pinata and free food.
Location: Red Scoot Inn. 1308 East 4th Street.
Time: 5pm to midnight
SUNDAY 5/15 - lee & clowndog are putting on a alleycat crit. music, beer, bike racing. will be fun.
Location: clowndog. 2821 San Jacinto Blvd.
Time: 8pm. too.
