rainy morning bike commute

i thought i had enough time to sprint to work inbetween thunder claps this morning. i got dressed in record time, shoulder bag on, out the door and on the bike. at this very moment in time, it all started coming down. i made it to quacks coffee shop on 43rd and holed up there. they have free wireless (doesn't everyplace in austin? i love austin) so, did the telecommute from there till it stopped. well that wasn't till about 11:30am. i suppose i should be more prepared if there's a threat of rain. i just figure i can outrun it or it won't last long. damnit - this is texas. what is rain? this is rain from inside quacks. finally on the bike and headed to campus and whitney rides up - so we chat for a while. always good to see him. he's a good guy, and if you are in the market for a frame ... he is a framebuilder. in addition, a graceful trackbike skidder. this was taken at the the peddler alleycat crit last month.
