riding down first thursday

well...an evening out on the town with all it's craziness can restore the soul. i met up with chrissy at our local fav, polvos on south 1st. it was a good ride up congress, and once there i was ready for some refreshments. a couple margaritas and a plate of poblano enchiladas with molé sauce....a very nice evening with my friend. then, i was on the bike headed to congress. just so happens, it's first thursday. cool....lots of folks out and lots going on. first stop....the drum circle. well, it's hard to pass that up. ha....so watched the crystal and drum throbbing folks kick it. then across the street to some Jamaican blues at frans. they were fun. so on down the street to watch the christian evangelist shouting from a ladder. and who do i run into? ryan and julia. COOL! so we see there are free margaritas at the boot shop or some sort of western store. and in we go. ryan still has no license...so me and julia get some cups of the juice and we mosey through the shit kickin store....lots of antlers, boots, wrangers...cowboy hats. yeeha. we make our way back out - they are going on up and i am headed out the other way into town. they are good folks and it was nice to run into them. so i head down congress and towards home. i check into amy's to see if dieter is there. and sure enough he is. there is a line down the sidewalk for ice cream, so i just make funny faces at him through the window. was a good nite. good riding. good people watching. lots of austin. yap. i feel better now. can't wait for the weekend..... frans burgers fun cart at polvos. i want to play on this. off centered handlebars after 3 margaritas. sweaty and concentrating on riding home. ha. vacant shipe park
