we were all sportin' bike tan lines and lots of grit in our hair after the wurstride saturday. oh whats a little 15mph winds for 5 hrs. that was some slow motion bike riding going down at times. it didn't seem to matter which way the road turned - hello wind. after a parade loop, when they directed us down the wrong road for a couple miles at the start, we turned around and were off to new braunsfels. i rode with some BSS friends, rick and alexis, and had a good time. we came up on a couple crashes...never a fun thing to see a cyclist in the middle of the road not moving. but both times, they didn't seem to be severe and help was on the way.

we saw cows, miniture horses, chasing dogs, camo forts, waving kids and kids riding 4x4's. once we got there and after we came out of our wind-induced daze...i rinsed off in the river. then they were serving free bratwurst. i passed on the unknown filled weiner and had a pickle and some of a sauerkraut sandwich. greg drove up and we hit wurstfest for some potatoe pancakes and applesauce. there were tubas and polka ladies and beer fraulines and drunk guys in felt hats. lots of meat. little old ladies eating sausage on a stick, turkey legs being nawed on every where you looked. you know. very zombish.
