bad drunk santa

we watched our annual viewing of Bad Santa the other nite. i love that movie. it's dark. its crude. its bittersweet. its funny as hell. billy bob thornton is an unflinching drunk santa - no apologies. no wink wink. no political correctness. just raw. he plays it well. he sits in it well. i really enjoy watching him in this role. even when its tough to watch. cuz it's sad - he shows the depths of being a drunk - of being horrible. but also of finding some moment of worth. even if it's fleeting. the ending was born from the studio i think. i doubt its the ending the writer or director had in mind. but it doesn't matter. it doesn't fail the movie at all. rent bad santa. there is alot of creepiness to the holidaze. i dont mind - keeps it interesting and fun. there's alot of nice things too. small - little intimate moments. the stuff that feels solid and not played out. i also like to watch:

• A Christmas Story. ralphie just wants a bb gun for christmas. its set in the 40's or something and its bitter funny. the guy that played Thurston Howell III on gilligan's island is the bumbling dad. he's awesome.
• Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. i have always loved this. the weird puppetry is so cool. the island of misfit toys. i adore misfit girl doll. the Abominable Snowmonster and then he turns into a nice guy. the elf that wants to be a dentist. ah. this is a great show. and santa as a real bigot? wtf
• fuck. the internet sucks. i can't find that MADTV rudolph the red nosed reindeer spoof they did. SAME exact claymation style and everything. but they were muderous thugs and killed santa and lots of other things. it was great. lemme know if you find it

that's all i can think of. my laptop battery is running out too. have a fun day. it's nice out now.
