love or die: karate monkey xcycle revolution

it has begun. i got a bus to central BSS to pick up the frankensteined together monkey. and the maiden voyage home was good. very good. it handles like a normal bike. i didn't notice any difference. i had a few things in there - i'm sure with several six packs and a bag of maltballs, there will be some getting used to. i'm glad i finally have one. i've been talking about it for over a year. and then, like these things do, it all came together at once. in one big swoosh. there are many behind this that deserve thanks and wonder woman style props:

• ezra. my NYC friend who built out his monkey xcycle (single mind u) and inspired me to go w/ a monkey. and for his patience with all my questions and for hand building some parts that are needed to convert a 29'er into a revolutionary xcycle.
• alex in wisconsin. i bought the monkey from him and the bike is awesome. worn-in brooks saddle, 1x9 (love it) and "don't fuck with wisconsin" pirate sticker.
• tim at BSS. kris agreed that tim could build it up, cuz he's still under the bone healing machine for his broken collarbone. tim did a bang up job and did it in a day. and really took care of me.
• brian at BSS. brian must like chains (and prolly whips). he threw in some chain to get this thing rolling. he will be repaid. and it might hurt him. just a little. :-)
• nic. for agreeing to put the beer and cookies i brought for them in a safe place. ha.
• greg. for not throwing a fit when i started talking about getting another bike. now i wonder what else i can sneak in
• surly. for making a coleman green monkey
• all my friends that have listened to me talk about this and encouraged me on: chrissy, john, j-bomb, timmyp, satan. and all the stuff i've read from other people on the xtracycle: matt chester, carsrcoffins, and the photos i saw of people hauling stuff on the xtracycle, the lovely colnago fixed gear xtracycle - that got me going
• the ebay dood that sold me the xtracycle kit
• ezra for recommending auction sniffer to win it at the last moment. is that cheating?
• the whole world.

that should hopefully cover it. i'm getting a few things changed. nitto handlebars, tires, the tyrannosaurus rex bell will go on there if i can find where i threw it when it fell off my orange one. lemme know if you need something hauled. :-)
