up at 5:45am
look at me. so blame it on the new year and all but there's been thoughts and mind banter about doing a few things differently. getting up early in the still of the morning. when it gets warmer, i can ride. but damn. when does the sun come up? still dark at 6:45am. its not so bad. getting up. course i slept like shit last nite. im sure i'll feel it later. but they say anything you do differently - do it for 30days. what the hell. might as well give it a go.
this old man fiddler was playing on south congress. he was really good. and even had a CD. i heard him play 2 songs but some creepy woman w/ her 2 kids stopped and listened for a minute to (to my surprise...as they stood very far away and seemed a little freaked out) and when the girls wanted to give him some money she had to walk up with them and over by me cuz i guess she thought that woud be safe. and in front of him says: "thats right girls, we have a 10foot rule for guys just like you".
i thought that was particuarly rude. and thankfully he didn't hear her. if i had 2 little girls, i'd be sure to teach them about boundaries and being wary. but does it have to go so far that you instill such a fear in your kids and then throw it up in the face of someone that is different than you?

Your post got me thinking about how rudeness is so much a part of our culture these days. The more people I come in contact with, the more I can't stand people. Ugh.

ah ... rob. yes i know what you mean. i find it sad and lonely when u see it. when people have no time for kindness. its unfortunate. and selfish.
