Jedidiah Ethan Solomon Frost stands for Superman
i popped into sol's shop on thursday to get the ooze back into the tubeless tires. and in record speed, he had that slippery slimey stuff in there and inflated - bada bing. SERVICE with a smile. he's the best and a good friend. i was visiting 'sol's shop' back when he was working out of his house and home brewing his magic toobless potions. im thrilled he has his shop now, he's always smiling, even when he's tired....you can visit him at austinbikes.com and his location is: 1904-C Guadalupe. (sorta at the corner of MLK and Guadalupe). he'll be happy to see you...
once i got the 1x1 up and running, me and chrissy hit the poison ivy infested trails of walnut creek last nite. it was good fun. i prevented us from running over a small cute green snake. and almost caused 2 guys to run into the back end of us. o well. the snake lived.
we saw len, the fixed gear cyclecross guy from nebraska ride through, the racer boy out with his girlfriend teaching her how to ride, lots of other folks just out riding a bike in the woods, runners and dog walkers, and finally sergio - the hardworking and fun loving expert top 5 guy now in the texas mtbike series....out riding his bike. was nice to catch up with him.
our last outing together was a large group that headed to juarez mexico for the 100k chupacabras race and party. he's heading back there this year. i think i will go too. that was a very surreal race. highfiving the kids as you race through the streets of juarez heading towards the mountains. passing policemen with machine guns in the streets, then you're in the desert passing small adobe homes with people waving from their houses as dogs and chickens run around. the mountains and the death march up king kong makes you feel as though you will die there. 2000 people from all walks of life come to this race. taking anywhere from 4-10 hours to complete 100k. its the best. and its brutal. maybe jason can fit it into his race schedule and bring home a win for the USA again. :-) here's a pic from the start of it....when some of our crew picked their way to the front to much spanish cursing and boos. ha here's a few more fotochopped silliness from the race.
wow. so that was a tangent. i'm sitting at the coffee shop watching the bikers ride by. its so good to see so many on bikes. we're riding to the movies tonite. urban 2hr ride....i can't wait.
here's the beautiful serotta track bike for sale at sol's shop. have a visit with him. he has nice chairs to sit in too.

that's little john's serotta, so so pretty. he's selling it to buy a new time trial bike. i'd probably just keep the serotta and sell a kidney or something...
i agree. you have 2 kidneys. but you can never have another bike like this one. or something like that....
