hello 22 degrees

this is the last morning to be wrapped up for my bike commute in. the 60's are coming back. right now: 22 feels like 14. yesterday i faired fine -- had the right amount of clothes on. except my fingers. i couldn't find my mittens. so had one pair of like underlayer gloves and then a pair of wool fingerless gloves. needless to say: my fingertips hurt like shit. but whatevers. makes you realize how glad you are to have fingertips.

have i mentioned my girl (i have been mentoring a 4th grader for a month) is still not back in school. this is her third week that she has missed school. today is my day to visit her. i will call and cross my fingers and hope shes there. its a fucked up thing. and i have to say, i wish the school and school authorities would do more.

i hear the valentines race went great. mo won. mo and his wife kate rode their bikes down from NYC and now live here in austin. they are good good peoples. me and kate and mel all raced together at the austin bikes race last week. we kicked everyone's ass...in our minds.
